Home Sweet Home
We bought our house in May 2008. Built in 1962 and lived in by only one family before us, it needed some MAJOR updates. Almost 3 years later, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel - just one big speed bump - the kitchen - is in our way. Since we were planning our wedding for the first 6 months we lived in the house, our initial projects involved a lot of wallpaper stripping and painting. The summer after we got married was when the fun really started. New windows, siding, doors, walkway, and patio took up our summer in 2009. It took us a while to mentally (and financially!) recover from all that work, so we were on hiatus until summer 2010. That brought a new bathroom and new landscaping (oh, and new carpet)! We kept it "low-key" since it was our "recovery" year before doing the kitchen. FINALLY, in 2011, we will be renovating our kitchen as well as the room next to it (referred to as the breezeway). After this, our house will finally feel like it's 100% ours and I can't wait!
Most of my blog posts are about the house (see labels, House or Renovations), but to get a quick look at the changes we've made in the last almost-3 years, check out THIS site.
